For Yosemite WeddingsJohn and Sue Paris serve as your wedding planners here in Yosemite. John, an ordained minister, personally officiates for your Yosemite wedding ceremony and fulfills the various related legal requirements. Of course, we recognize that you, the bride and groom, are in reality the true “wedding planners” for your celebration, and that our role is to lend assistance and support to you in any way that we can. John serves as the minister for several hundred Yosemite Weddings, marriage vow renewals, and other special occasions each year at  scores of favorite indoor and outdoor locations throughout Yosemite National Park and the entire Yosemite Region and beyond. Among them is the historic Yosemite Chapel (the oldest building in the park and a “centerpiece” of the Yosemite community since the 1870’s), along with various nearby sites, including our Windows of the Cathedral and Chapel at the Falls locations, boasting phenomenal views of the chapel and other prominent Yosemite landmarks such as Half Dome and Yosemite Falls. A pastor and chaplain for 38 years serving quite diverse populations ~ from lonely, hurting people on Skid Row to
world travelers visiting the Yosemite Chapel ~ Rev. Paris serves as Minister at Large throughout the Yosemite Region. Prior to coming to Yosemite, John and Sue ministered for many years with destitute persons in the inner city of Los Angeles, who struggled with various addictions and dysfunctional lifestyles. That ultimately brought them to the Yosemite area, where John, along with a talented staff, developed and directed a residential treatment center through
which young people off the street acquired significant skills toward constructive alternatives for their lives. Sue and John have three married children and four grandchildren. Having known the blessings (and challenges!) of marriage and family life for the past 37 years, they are honored to be able to assist other couples begin this venture in a wonderfully positive way. It has been a unique privilege for us to participate in
approximately four thousand Yosemite Weddings, marriage vow renewals, and other very important occasions with people from around the world, assisting them in planning the details of their events at awe-inspiring locations, and celebrating their happiness with them.
