Picnic Celebrations

Informal outdoor picnic celebrations following special events in and around Yosemite (for those not planning a formal reception or who are having a reception “back home”) are delightful in this beautiful place and are very popular, and certainly the way to go when trying to keep costs down. Food can be brought by family and friends or purchased from local caterers. Also, cake and beverages (for very small events) can be ordered directly from us at YosemiteWeddings.org (which includes delivery to you at the time of your event). This picnic type of celebration, of course, keeps costs at a minimum, while still affording magnificent scenery!

Picnic celebrations are most often done during the spring, summer, and early fall. There are various locations in Yosemite ~ all beautiful ~ depending upon the size of your group and your desired scenery:

In addition to numerous other locations throughout Yosemite and the entire region, in Yosemite Valley along the river picnic celebrations are often held at either the Yellow Pine Sentinel Beach or the Cathedral Beach day use picnic areas, where there are beautiful views of Yosemite Falls or El Capitan respectively. In Yosemite’s High Country, Tenaya Lake is a phenomenal location for a picnic celebration, as well as for the wedding or other special event itself!
